and I bought

And I bought The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo.  I know, not a New Zealand book and not exactly one that needs sales to push it up the best seller list but I haven’t read it and I want to see what all the fuss is about.  I told you I was way behind in what I should be reading!

Let me know what you think, have just brought it and the sequel for the library as the movie was very popular with our senior students. It’s also my ‘next read’!

  2. Hmm. I’d keep it for the senior students at the library. Was a good read (although I think the text suffered a little in the translation) but some of the subject matter is pretty horrific. I’m not sure if it is because the people of Europe went through World War II (as in it was in their towns and their countryside) and we didn’t that their modern writers seem able to dwell on the most sadistic and horrible crimes. They have a legacy of horror that the rest of us don’t have. Certainly makes the book an uncomfortable read at times.
