Course approval started at the university today and at last the campus is not looking so deserted. The sun is shining and students are sitting on the grass by the banks of the Leith, filling up the book shops and the cafes and, of course, standing in lines in the corridors looking worried as they sign up for university papers. It’s nice to be part of it all but even nicer is that I have my own office with my own car park right outside it. The residency comes with the offer of the Robert Lord Cottage to stay in but I live on the Taieri (a 20-minute drive away) so I said no to the cottage but a yes please to a car park. Trying to find a park here is horrible if you don’t have one. Anyway, it’s Friday and I’m planning on cracking 10,000 words by the end of the day so back to it!
